Daydream Kronna

Genus: Kronna

Species: Daydream

Characteristics: A carnivorous plant that usually grows in open plains with long grass where it has direct access to sunlight. However, it would not survive in subtropical and tropical regions. It can be propagated by cutting off the blossom. For the first few stages of growth, it needs to be kept in shade or long grass as young Kronna are susceptible to burn from the direct sun. (Hence, why they are generally seen in tall grass).

The plant releases pollen of red and orange hues which when inhaled can soothe or in greater doses sedate. Its long Stigmas can then capture the prey and once within their hold it closes it’s petals to digest.

The pollen is commonly used as part of healers concoctions.

Work in Progress III.

The map of Ngakau has been uploaded and with it I am going to start working on the rest of the clans that are noted on the map. After clans, which are my primary focus at the moment, I will most likely do fauna and flora in more detail. However, if you have any suggestions, or would like to know a bit more about something, don’t hesitate and put in the comments.

Like I promised, I don’t forget, even if I disappear.

Work in Progress II.

Weeks have passed as I have said and finally, at the end of the holiday week, I might just be able to sit down for a moment and post a bit on Customs in Ngakau, specifically for the Arcane Crown Kin. I will also revise the rest of the clans that inhabit that continent and try to post at least one of those. The map is still in progress, but hopefully will be put up soon as well.

Just keep believing that I haven’t forgotten. Because I truly haven’t.

Work in Progress I.

Life has got in my way these days. I am also working on a map of Ngakau. I will try and post as soon as time will allow. I mean, the to-do list is ever growing and I would love to munch through it steadily, but I am afraid that for the next couple days, maybe weeks, there might not be any post. That doesn’t mean I have forgotten about Promia, however. It is, and always will be, on my mind, undergoing constant evolution. I just need to steal a few minutes for myself to write it all down.

Be patient with me, please.

The Ceremonial Hall

It is a place located in the Woodlands behind the village where the Arcane Crown Kin resides. In this hall, their youngsters, upon reaching fifteen years of age, go to be ‘welcomed’ to the tribe as full fledged members. The place is very much weaved through with magic of the sorcerers, shamans and healers of the tribe and the ceremony puts an imaginary seal on the participants which unlocks their power and allows them to use it to the full extent. To get to the Ceremonial Halls, one would need to go through the Woodlands. It’s a nice and relaxing place with animals, some moss and undergrowth, nothing special, up until one would reach the clearing. At first it would seem as if there were remnants of a collapsed building randomly lying around until one would enter this structure which looks like a hall that has been blown up from within but the fragments are kept afloat. The Sacred Garden: Primary observation

The Arcane Crown Kin Phenomena Records – Special edition
14th day of Ripe, 341 SE
This record is being written two months after the occurrence and it is by no means definite. According to the Elders of the Arcane Crown Kin, during the month of Bud they have been visited by a being. As of now, they refuse to elaborate on where this being has come from or how it has reached our lands, but it was powerful enough to rouse the Harbinger from its peaceful dwelling that he still resides by the border of the forest. The “Sacred Garden” as the tribe came to refer to this location, is a circular part of the forest located behind the village where the energy has been shifted and changed. How? The Elders and villagers alike say it has been due to a natural anomaly they refer to as a “fire rain” that descended upon the land, released by that mysterious being. So far it is near impossible to determine what sort of changes has occurred and how far-reaching those are, but that circular area has undergone transformation beyond anything seen in Promia. It causes the plants to glow, grow in abnormal sizes and shapes. Even animals seemed to have altered in appearance and those who were once feral, are now calm and peaceful, for as long as they are respected. This phenomenon will continue to be examined and hopefully, with time, we will be able to determine all the consequences as well as who that mysterious being is and if it still present in the land.

The Dawn Stalker

The Dawn Stalker is a nocturnal animal that is native to Promia. It is a predator that seeks its refuge in forests where it also hunts. It is a wolf-like creature of about a similar size. It is not aggressive as long as it is satiated. Hence, if you see it in a forest and it doesn’t attack you, you’re safe as it has probably fed already. It will just give you a look and then trod off. However, some parts of its fur are red that in any lighting, dawn’s light or moon light, it looks like fresh blood. Continue reading “The Dawn Stalker”

The Harbinger of Ancient Spirits

This creature is considered the messenger of the Ancient Spirit that are revered throughout the land. It’s first appearance was spotted some centuries ago when the last warfare in her land’s ended. Some say, that it’s reappearance was what ended the wars. It seems to be inherently peaceful, yet magnificent and awe-inspiring.

The Sanctuary of Knowledge

It is a stone structure surrounded by nature, maintained by collective magic of all the tribes in Promia. It is a massive library that has all the books and scripts ever written in Ngakau that concern magic, healing, shamanism or anything else about the arcane arts or anything that touches upon the unexplained (e.g. phenomena).
