The Chronology

The chronology system is based on the appearance of the Harbinger of Ancient Spirits with the era following its emergence called Salvation Era, or ‘SE’ for short. The
time before then is referred to as Dark Ages, hence ‘DA’.

This chronology is majorly focused on Ngakau continent as that is the one under development right now. Hence, this timeline is a subject to change once I get to work
on Upoko continent.

Approximately 1000 DA: Ashniya, the Mother Goddess, finds the flicker and creates the stars.

Approximately 990 DA: Elena, the Goddess of Night, is born. Mealea, Promia’s only moon, created. Parental trees planted in the barren lands.

Approximately 650 DA: Parental trees finished creation of all the fauna and flora. Ashniya’s tears fell on Promia.

Approximately 625 DA: Mother Goddess dies. Haion is born. The sun starts circling Promia. Day and night become a regular occurrence instead of  continuous night. Magical currents start flowing through Promia. Parental trees and other gods create first humans and retreat from Promia due to being weakened, becoming Ancient Spirits.

Approximately 620 DA:  First formation of clans, each devoted to one of the Ancient Spirits, including the departed Mother Goddess, Ashniya.

Approximately 620 ~ 550 DA: Ancient Spirits’ failed creations roam the land. Portent of upcoming conflict felt in the air.

Approximately 550 ~535 DA: First predators start attacking the humans. Poisonous plants claim many lives. Nights become sights of horror, nightmarish creatures began to threaten humanity. Middle section of Promia starts to dry up, unstoppable creation of the desert, first volcano eruptions.

Approximately 535 DA: Beginning of the Chaos according to myths.

Approximately 500 DA: Great earthquake hit Promia. The land that used to be one large continent was separated into two, Ngakau and Upoko, by the force from Mother and Father tree with the support of their followers, children that were created from their energy release (according to myths). This is known as the Great Divide with the sea separating the two continents know as The Divide. It is believed that almost every follower of these two Ancient Spirits have died in the process. Leaving little to no trace of their existence behind.

Approximately 500~250 DA: Both lands live in relative peace, trying to rebuild and create a society. First written records are being made.

248 DA: Portent of distress ripples both lands. Extreme weather phenomena start torturing both continents. Nights are once again becoming places of nightmare.

243 DA: Ships land on Ngakau’s east coast. Upoko inhabitants are hostile against the clans, blaming them for the changes, trying to wipe out the supposed danger. Ngakau soon builds up its own force to face off to Upoko invaders. Beginning of war.

235 DA: Upoko ships in the nightmarish creatures from long lost tales. Ngakau proclaims them followers of Elena and darkness. Bloodshed continues.

200 DA: Ngakau managed to beat back the invasion but it is at great losses. Upoko invaders retreat.  Temple of Elena are being destroyed on Ngakau in hopes it would ease the horrors of the night. Upoko seems to embrace the darkness, destroyed temples devoted to Haion on its continet. Upoko isolates itself.

182 DA: Ngakau manages to heal from the war. Night horrors have also ceased down throughout the years. Extreme weather has stopped. Ngakau is in disarray, however. Clans on Ngakau are shattered.

146 DA: Inhabitants on Ngakau manage to form three new clans: The Lake Children, The Mute Sand Tribe and The Grim Scar Kin. Those three try to keep order in land. The Lake Children attempting to control middle of Ngakau which has vast grassland, the Woodlands, five rivers and the largest lake (Jade Shallows); The Mute Sand Tribe controlling north part of Ngakau where the Barren Fields are; The Grim Scar Kin taking over the south part where the highest mountain range is (The Snowy Highlands).

95 DA: Skirmishes among the tribes from those who don’t believe they belong there. From The Lake Children, the Arcane Crown Kin has separated and moved towards the east to settle near the Woodlands and Sobbing Hills. From the Grim Scar Kin is formed the Frozen Aura Clan which moves north towards the Barren Fields but stops and settled down by a smaller mountain range (The Guardian Range). From those who still wandered the land The Rising Mage Tribe is formed and it resides in the middle of grassland between The Snowy Highlands and The Woodlands.

0 SE: After nine decades and half of instability, constant fights over territory and lack of harmony on Ngakau, the Harbinger of Ancient Spirits appears. It’s first sighting was by the Guardian range where it nestled until all the tribes came to it, pulled towards the creature by some unknown call that seemed to resonate within every single human being. There, every single being was given a vision of the Mother Goddess Ashniya. Voices came forth speaking softly. Ngakau inhabitants broke down under the pressure of their foolishness and vowed to maintain the harmony that they were blessed with by the Ancient Spirits.

0~4 SE: Establishment of Elders in each clan. Peace has been made and vowed to be maintained.

24 SE: Sanctuary of Knowledge built and established as the centre of all knowledge on Promia after all Elders have been given a vision of it.

76 SE: Discovery of ancient texts, now fragile and falling apart, written in languages no longer understood. Moved to the Sanctuary and studied.

93 SE: Establishment of better infrastructure around the land including trading posts.

341 SE: Year when the Sacred Garden is created by an energy release from the Phoenix God called Faireheart.
